The Elexoma Medic can effectively facilitate healing in recent wounds, especially in cases involving:
- Chronic wounds
- Muscle injury
- Nerve injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Nerve regrowth
Soft tissue injury
Microcurrent therapy is excellent rehabilitative treatment for soft tissue injury, as it ‘resets’ electrical balance in the tissue, helping to increase the rate at which healing occurs. It also reduces the severity of exercise-induced muscle injury.
If you are going in for scheduled surgery, treat the area to be cut a few hours before you go into theatre, and then daily after surgery.
Nerve regrowth does well with MET, but can take up to 3 to 6 months for results to show. You’ll know healing is taking place when you feel "pins and needles" in the area supplied by the injured nerve.
